Unit 2 - Motion
The purpose of these labs are to use Arduino and Python to study motion of physical objects.
- Lab 2A: Poly-fit and Speed of Sound
- Lab 2B: Gravitational Acceleration
- Lab 2C: Tracker Analysis
In Lab 2A, you will be integrating your Arduino with an ultrasonic sensor. The ultrasonic sensor outputs the time taken for a soundwave generated from the sensor to bounce off an object and return. This information can help us identify the speed of sound.
In Lab 2B, you will be using the ultrasonic sensor to measure the gravitational acceleration. There will be several ways to achieve that so there will be variation on both the setup and data analysis
In Lab 2C, you will working with Tracker software to analyze 2 dimensional motion. You will be provided some videos to analyze and you will have to capture some projectile videos of your own. In Lab 2D, you will be using Tracker software on some videos with elastic and inelastic collisions to study momentum. You will also be discussing potential final projects.
